Gaddafi's daughter Hana: dead or a practising doctor?

Some accounts say Gaddafi Hana died in a bombing in 1986, others that she lived to become a doctor or never existed

Among the many mysteries of the Gaddafi clan - at least not the current fate of their leader - few are as dark as those surrounding Hana Gaddafi's adopted daughter of the deposed leader of Libya. According to the account you believe, as a child died in a U.S. bombing in 1986, lived to become a doctor, never existed at all, or, perhaps the most curious is that two different people.

The first in the outside world knew of Hana, said the second of two adopted children brought to the family after the birth of eight biological children, Muammar Gaddafi, came in April 1986, when aircraft U.S. Grant family Gaddafi bombed Tripoli in retaliation for an attack allegedly planned by Libya of a Berlin discotheque popular with U.S. military.

The attack missed the Libyan leader, but according to reports in state media in the country at a time, it kills Hana. Even if a foreign journalist was shown the body of a young girl from the absence of any mention of Gaddafi public skepticism Hana asked on a previous connection with the family and speculation that any approval could have been held to posthumous propaganda.

was a counter theory: Hana existed but was not dead. According to this version of events has spent time in London, before studying in Tripoli to a doctor. The first documentary evidence to support what was just three weeks ago, when the German daily Die Welt reported that he had obtained a document relating to the seizure of property of the Gaddafi family in Switzerland since the beginning of the fight against within Libya. This would include 23 members of the clan, including Hana Gaddafi was born November 11, 1985, which became six months when the U.S. raid.

But tantalizing details from Friday, when an Irish Times journalist, in Tripoli, Mary Fitzgerald, found what appeared to be the study of Hana on the now invaded the Bab al-Aziziyah up a room full of medical books. Next to sex and CD set of the City and Backstreet Boys were the passport photos of a girl very similar to the image of the girl behind Mandela in 1999.

As the leader of the rebels around the enclosure seems to be confirmed Hana room, Fitzgerald found a document signed by a university medical Muammar Gaddafi Hana. There was also a certificate from the British Council in Tripoli, dated July 2007, showing a person of the same name, had scored an A in English.

is where the story takes another turn. A spokesman for the British Council told the Guardian that the records of students remained locked in the office in Tripoli, which was abandoned by the staff in February. However, he added, the director of the first country of Libya recalls in this particular student.
