Yemen troops kill renegade soldiers, as protests go on against Saleh's return

troops loyal to President Ali Abdullah Saleh, has killed at least 11 soldiers and wounded more than 100 in a major assault on the division of the rebels supported pro-democracy demonstrators. The deaths come after 16 protesters were killed Friday night.

The headquarters of the rebel first armored division in the capital, Sanaa, came under mortar fire a day after the sudden return of Saleh in the country on Friday, arousing fears of a civil war.

Abdel-Ghani al-Shimiri reported at least 11 pro-opposition soldiers were killed and 112 wounded.
