calls to ban electronic cigarettes reflect a bias against smokers rooted and our death-denying culture

The news that some states want to ban electronic cigarettes and practice known as "Vaping" is the latest example of what has become a moral crusade against smokers.

The dangers of smoking are not in dispute. Secondary or passive smoking are much more questionable, although form the basis of smoking bans. Now anti-smoking activists condemn third-hand smoke - the supposed dangers to feel the clothes of someone who has smoked, and even fourth-hand smokers - the idea that contact with a non-smoker who has had contact with a smoker is dangerous. Meanwhile, activists push for images of cigarettes in movies and cartoons to be canceled and cigarette packages hidden from public view.

The objective of this activism is, as the former chief medical officer of the United Kingdom Sir Liam Donaldson revealed in 2007, "denormalization full of smoke." What a wonderful idea that it's Orwellian , and is at least halfway to achieving its objective. Apart from the smoking ban in recent months, I was approached several times in the street by people who oppose me to smoke and to spit once to do so. I know from conversations with other smokers is not unusual.
